Biography:
Pat Savage is a graduate of Catholic University of America. He has practiced as a Licensed Psychologist in Montgomery County for twenty-three years. He is a fellow of the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA), a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), and the Association of Practicing Psychologist Montgomery-Prince Georges Counties, Inc (APP).
Dr. Savage serves as chairman of the Professional Practice Committee for MPA and is a member of the Board of Directors and the Legislative Committee of MPA. He has worked for the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, Montgomery County Public Schools/Montgomery County Health Department, operated an EAP for a major corporation in the area, and served as a peer reviewer/advisor for a local insurance company.
Some of his special interests are: assessment and treatment of individuals experiencing a variety of disorders affecting brain function from frank injury (TBI, stroke, etc.) to developmental disorders (i.e., AD/HD, Learning Disabilities, Asperger’s , PDD, etc.).
Dr. Savage provides treatment for a wide range of mental health issues (depression, anxiety, post traumatic and acute stress, chronic/acute illness, substance use/abuse, marital issues, etc.) in a culturally diverse population ranging in age from 6 through adulthood. Another special interest in working with athletes to enhance their performance through the use of sound psychological principles. He maintains a full time practice in the Silver Spring and Olney areas. Most recently he has served as guest editor of The Maryland Psychologist and has written a book review and several articles. He provides talks on AD/HD, parenting, and executive skills.
